OUR SERVICES

Bright Beginnings Therapeutic Services seeks to provide BHRS services which are evidence based and best practice to the population of children that we serve. Bright Beginnings, LLC offers the following services:

Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC) services: Following a psychological evaluation by a licensed psychologist ,the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and/or BSC, a Master's level, licensed clinician will ensure that a behavior intervention plan is created which is tailored to the needs of your child and utilizes the appropriate ABA strategy needed to create positive, behavioral change. The BSC will not only create and modify the treatment/behavior intervention plan as needed but will conduct a Functional Behavior Assessment, other assessments when necessary, record and analyze behavioral data and supervise the other clinicians on your child's team.

Therapeutic Staff Support (TSS) Services: Under the guidance of the BSC, Therapeutic Staff Support professionals will work one-on-one with your child in the home/school/community settings to implement their unique behavior intervention/treatment plan. The TSS aids your child in reaching their behavioral goals by providing implementing the strategies in their treatment plan and recording your child's progress in the form of behavioral data on a more consistent basis. TSS are integral members of your child's treatment team.

All clinicians will focus on positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement means rewarding the absence of the negative behavior or the presence of the target (positive) behavior with anything from a tangible reward to positive praise/attention. In addition to focusing on positive reinforcement clinicians may use ABA strategies appropriate in helping your child achieve his/her behavioral goals such as:

  1. Prompts

  2. Modeling

  3. Reinforcement

  4. Task Analysis

  5. Forward Chaining

  6. Backward Chaining

  7. Discrete Trial Training

  8. Shaping

In addition to utilizing these strategies themselves, clinicians will model and practice these strategies with the parent/guardian and/or other professionals who work with the child so that a positive change in behaviors can take place across settings and in the eventual absence of the clinician/services. Clinicians will record data by utilizing the “ABC” strategy which identifies the antecedent (what came before the behavior), the behavior itself and the consequence that took place following the behavior. Additionally, clinicians will record behavioral data either through duration, frequency or latency, whichever strategy is most child-centered and appropriate for the behavior being measured. BSC and TSS will utilize recorded behavioral data to modify the child’s treatment plan and to move on to another goal if a particular goal has been achieved or take a step back and re-evaluate using a different strategy if no change or regression has taken place.
